Holiday Inspirations: Adding Trending Colors and Textures To Your Home

The holiday season is upon us — and if ever there was a time to infuse color, texture, and merriment into your space, it’s now. Here at 210 Design House, we’re all about big design renovations (if you’re looking for a brand new kitchen in 2025, let’s talk!), but a huge impact can still be made by utilizing trending accessories and finishes.

Kitchens, bathrooms, and closets may be the heart and soul of 210, but the power of vibrant furniture and statement decor can’t be overstated. We asked a few members of our design team to share their favorite ideas and products for adding color and texture to your home without embarking on a full renovation — this season and all year long.

Laying the Groundwork

Rugs are, quite literally, the foundation of a room. Whether solid or patterned, amorphous or classic, rugs set the tone for the way a room feels. Changing out the rug for a season can affect the level of comfort and warmth in a room, while also drastically impacting the color palette and texture of the space. There’s no rule that says you can’t choose a rug that matches your holiday garland…

Prioritizing Seating

The holiday season is filled with opportunities to entertain — which is why Design Assistant Grace Radoha is a fan of rolling chairs and poufs. Easily movable from room to room, these statement seats also offer a cozy texture. And when they’re not being used for cocktail party guests? “It’s a perfect warm vibe for the season,” says Grace, “and a great spot for morning coffee.”

Furnishing for Festivities

MisuraEmme provides no shortage of entertainment value — with bar carts, coffee tables, and storage solutions allowing for maximum functionality while also prioritizing beautiful design. “The Ar1 bar cart from MisuraEmme has a vintage feel, which is ideal for holiday cocktail parties,” says Senior Designer Alex Adducci. “And for those who like to entertain all year long, the Shibuya sideboards feature plenty of storage in addition to a luxurious finish.”

Swapping Out Window Coverings

An underutilized opportunity for change comes in the form of window treatments, from drapery to blinds. Muted greens and reds add seasonal cheer, and warm neutrals like beige or tan add comfort and respite from the outside chill.

Accessorize, Accessorize, Accessorize

“Vases are a staple during the holiday,” says Grace, “and the TuTube cylindrical vases from Glas Italia can be filled with candles or greenery as an alternative to traditional flowers.”

Swapping out wall art also offers an exciting opportunity to add texture and color, with mirrors and accessories from Glas Italia stealing any show. “In addition to Glas Italia’s vases, I also love the Andromeda mirrors,” says Alexander.

And Finally, for a Bigger, Wall-to-Wall Statement…

While not necessarily a quick undertaking, one of the biggest ways to make a textural impact on a space can be found through wallpaper. Wall&decò wallcoverings offer the perfect amount of personality, storytelling, and artistry, and our clients and designers love to pair these textures and patterns with complementary furnishings. Perhaps a wallcovering revamp should be on your list of 2025 resolutions…
